Many patients seek improvement in the symmetry, shape, and position of the breasts. Surgical procedures are tailored by Dr. Austin Remington or Dr. Brad Remington to meet your goals, whether you are looking to have breasts that are more proportional to your frame, lift sagging/deflated tissue after weight loss, age, or breastfeeding, or reduce discomfort from heavy breasts.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that involves inserting implants (silicone or saline) beneath the breast tissue or chest muscle to increase breast size and improve projection. This enhances breast volume and symmetry, and particularly in the superior portion of the breast, provides a fuller and more contoured appearance. Selection of an implant is more complex than just choosing a volume – factors such as chest diameter, implant profiles and materials, aesthetic goals, breast asymmetry, and nipple position are all critical factors that will be considered during your consultation.
Breast Lift
A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a procedure used to treat sagging breast tissue and nipple position. It involves removing excess skin, repositioning the nipple-areolar complex, and tightening the breast tissue to restore a more youthful appearance. It can improve breast shape, position, and symmetry, but does not alter the volume of the breasts. A breast lift is an excellent option for women who have experienced deflation or sagging due to breastfeeding, aging, or significant weight loss.
Breast Implant Removal
This surgery is performed to remove implants previously placed during a breast augmentation. Patients may choose to move forward with breast implant removal for a variety of reasons, including a desire to be smaller in size or implant-related complications, such as rupture/leak or capsular contracture. Depending on the skin quality of the patient, a breast lift (mastopexy) may be recommended at the same time as breast implant removal.
Breast Implant Revision
Breast implant revision is a category of surgical procedures designed to adjust the size, shape, or symmetry of breasts with implants in place from previous augmentation or implant-based reconstruction. The procedure often involves removing/replacing existing implants (changing volumes or treating leak or rupture) and altering the implant capsule (improving implant position or treating capsular contracture.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a procedure performed by plastic and reconstructive surgeons to reduce the size of excessively large breasts by removing tissue and recreating the breast shape. This procedure can alleviate the physical discomfort associated with large breasts, such as back and neck pain. A breast reduction, by design, includes a lift for the nipple-areolar complex. The goal is to reshape/reposition the smaller breasts, reduce symptoms, and improve confidence.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is undertaken for patients with breast cancer that have had a lumpectomy or mastectomy. It can be accomplished using various techniques, including implant placement or autologous tissue transfer (using the patient’s own body tissue). Reconstruction is a personal decision, and our team can help restore the appearance of the breasts for initial or revision reconstruction procedures.
Axillary Breast Removal
Axillary breast removal is a surgery that removes additional breast tissue located in the anterior axillary region, which is the area at the front of the armpit. The condition is relatively common and can cause a disproportionate appearance of the chest, as well as discomfort.
